Dinner with Family

The girls and I did some shopping with Abby today then met up with Christy & Mark and Ginny & Gene for dinner at The Cheesecake Factory.  Our time with Abby is almost over, but we've had so much fun shopping, swimming and sleep overs.  The girls and Van just love Abby and Aunt Christy and it's been great getting to know Mark as well.

Sweet Josette

A couple weeks ago Josette and Grandpa Gene were at the grocery store when she found $40 laying in the isle.  Instead of taking it, she turned it in to an employee who said "If no one claims it in a week, it's yours."  She was thrilled!  She quickly called me and Grandma Lang to tell us what happened and that she was going to donate $20 to our Church and buy a webkinz with the rest.  Well, no one claimed the money, so it was hers to keep.  We quickly went to Toys R Us and she bought something for herself as well as Gigi and Jessie.  Later that week while getting ready for Church, she pulled out her $20, put it in a special envelope and donated it.  Josette never ceases to amaze me.  Her good character and sweet nature come from her kind and pure heart.  She is always thinking of others and when she says she's going to do something, she follows through.  Good job Josette!  You're our little ANGEL!

Abby's Birthday

Well, it's actually in July, but we had a family dinner tonight to celebrate Abby turning 12.  Ginny cooked a delicious dinner, we had a nice visit with Christy and Mark, then the girls put on a play and dance party for us.  Fun filled evening!

Bad Haggis

This is a summer tradition we never miss for the last 12+ years.  We love going to the concerts at the Malaga Cove Library!  For as long as I can remember we have joined Judy and Jane for an evening picnic with Bad Haggis.  This year was a little emotional without Judy, however her spirit and memory will live on forever!  Tonight we joined Jane and Jodi, Ginny, Gene and Abby and the entire Dia and Brown Families.  We had a great time visiting with friends, sharing good eats and singing the words to the songs we all know and love.

Amir Dia and his 2 beauties, Farrah and Layla.

Jessie was the photographer of the night.

What a surprise to see Deborah Ann Struble!  Fun catching up with her.

Adventure City

Cousin Abby's here!  She's visiting with Aunt Christy and Mark from Delaware.  The girls were so excited to see her.  First stop, Adventure City!  We had a fun day riding ALL the rides.  It's a small park so how did we manage to spend 5 hours there?  Well... we rode the rides 100 times each!

What a treat to ride with the City Kitty!

Dad's Work

Today we packed a lunch and drove to Pacific Palisades to see Jeff at his job site.  We were all impressed with his skill, craftsmanship and the scope of his project.  He's building a beautiful Modern Green home.
That night I had to go out and get Van his own hammer and drill so he can build like his Dad.
